Pie: The Ultimate Slow Food

Pie is the ultimate slow food. Gathering the ingredients. Maybe picking the fruit. Preparing the crust. The art of the piecrust. Will it be sweet or savory? Or tart and fruity? Crunchy top? Okay my mouth is watering.

So think of the Pie-Off as Portland's offering to the Slow Food Movement. Because on the same weekend as our Pie-Off, our sister city to the south, San Francisco, will be hosting a weekend of the Slow Food conference.

Just a little further North? Here in Portland we'll be slowly baking pie, and slowly enjoying it. mmmmmmmmmmmmmPie.
